Interesting Preview

I was thumbing through the latest issue of "PREVIEWS", a monthly magazine that focuses on upcoming comic book/graphic novel news. As I flipped through the magazine's pages, I saw an ad for an upcoming limited-issue series called "Righteous Fury," written and illustrated by Jimmy Devers. I was familiar with Devers' work, as he had done a 12-issue Batman mini-series for DC and a 12-issue Spider-Gwen mini-series for Marvel. Devers was doing something different with this new title; he wanted the series to have a manga feel. The artwork would be all black-and-white, and the series would read left to right (unlike Japanese manga, which reads right to left). A woman named Jessie Flood, an undercover cop, would be Devers' protagonist. The ad featured a one-panel drawing of an angry Jessie Flood, wearing only panties, preparing to beat the crap out of some lowlife creep. I made a mental note to check out the first issue when it hit the comic book shops; Devers always creates great reads.
