Hi there, Phoebe. A friend of mine wanted to ask you a question: Do you use any special hair products to keep your hair and tail so silky smooth? My friend says she usually cleans it with her own spit and it makes it look really shiny, but the hair doesn't feel silky at all.

P: Ummm, hi there… > No need to be shy, now, I don't bite. What’s your name miss? P: Ardelean. Uh, I mean, Phoebe. Sorry. > No worries. What do you do for work Phoebe? P: I work at a local cafe. MisuMisu, down by the park. > Are you behind the bar? P: Oh, no, sorry. *nervous squeak* I’m a waitress. Or a server. I forget the official job title, but I wait tables. > Is such a busy and social job demanding for you? P: It… can be, yes. But I think it's good for me to get out there and try to talk to people. I actually enjoy conversations, I just never know how to start one. > How do you handle angry customers? P: *Nervous humming* Mostly by trying to avoid them to be honest. But sometimes you have to bite the bullet and do your best. It helps to think of them as being upset at the situation and not with you. I’m there to help after all, it's me and them versus the problem. > Very mature of you, that’s quite the outlook for one so young. P: *voice wavering* It-it-its not that impressive, really. > Enough about work though, what do you do for fun? P: Like… hobbies? Or activities? Sports? > Anything at all. P: Oh, ummm… I like baking, but I don't know if that counts as a hobby. I grow plants, but that's also mostly work. Like weeding and watering everything. Oh, that probably doesn't sound fun does it? > I think most hobbies involve some kind of work, it's just work that you enjoy doing. P: Yeah, that makes sense. In that case, I have a lot of hobbies. I’m always busy. Oh, now that I think of it, I should have brought you some peppers. I just harvested a whole batch. *sigh* > It's okay. You can swing by anytime, the front desk is used to accepting gifts and fanmail. P: I’ll do that! Do you like tomatoes too? I think I had… *soft mumbling* > Speaking of, did you have a favorite food? Or a least favorite, even. P: *tapping sounds* Banana bread. Probably. I don’t like anything sour though. > Not even sour candy? P: Oh, no, not at all. Lemons are okay though. Citrus is a different kind of sour. > I see. How about a pet? P: Not unless plants count. *nervous laugh* > What’s your favorite place in the city? P: Uhhh… good question, actually. > Need a minute? P: Uhh… Maybe the park? Or the mall? No, no, the cathedral gardens. With the blue roses. I have morning coffee with Merci there every Sunday. > Ah, is she a good friend of yours? P: You could say that. I, uh, don't really spend a ton of time… hanging out, or whatever you want to call it. But we do chat a lot when our schedules align. > I think a lot of adult friendships work like that if I’m being honest. P: That’s what dad used to say, so I believe it. > Anyone you don't like to cross paths with? P: *humming* Who’s that redhead with the robots? She makes a ruckus at the cafe every now and then so everytime she shows up I get nervous. > A ruckus? How so? P: She crashed a drone into a customer’s latte. And then it caught fire. She’s lucky the owner didn't ban her to be honest. I would have. > I see. I think I might know who you mean. P: *affirmation* > How about music? What’s your genre? P: I don't think I have a favorite. I listen to a little bit of everything, as long as I like the vibe. > You seem to be something of a jack of all trades, I’m sensing. P: You think so? Is that a bad thing? > Not at all! Variety is the spice of life after all. And speaking of spice, what would an ideal date for you look like? P: A… d-date? Like, a girl date? Or a date date? A spa date? > Let's say, the romantic type. P: Oh, right. *nervous humming* Maybe… No, no, that's stupid. Um… > Cat got your tongue? P: No, no, it's just… there’s too many good options. I don't know how to pick only one. How would I know what the ideal is if I don't experience all of them at least once? > I think I’m starting to understand why you have so many hobbies. P: *nervous laugh* > I’m almost scared to ask the really spicy question now. P: It's okay. But yes, my answer would be the same. How can I really know what I like until I’ve tried it, you know? Or, um, at least thought about it long and hard. > I’ll resist the obvious joke. What's something you’ve never told anyone? P: Oh, a lot of things. I’m usually busy doing things not yapping. Oh, an example. Um, I name all my plants. But no one knows the names except me. > That’s kinda cute. You sound like you have a big garden though. P: Yes, it's quite the list. *giggles* > Well, this has been quite the chat today. One last question before we go to the callers. Our station tradition. Have you ever wished upon a star and if so, what for? P: It's kinda embarrassing, but I wished for really silky hair.
