Scion of Jormungandr

One of the four bringers of Ragnarok, Jormungandr, the serpent that holds the sea, was secretly lulled to sleep by the agents of Nidhogg, the great devourer that rests its fangs in the world tree. While in a deep slumber, the serpent was slain and her essence was taken by the children of Nidhogg. With the powers of the dark lands and the poisoned blood of the world tree, Nidhogg was able to force a ritual that gave birth to a new life. This creature was the mortal incarnation of the mighty serpent. What the devourer intends to do with this creature remains a mystery to the mortals of Midgard, but one can imagine it won't be good. After the ritual was completed, a group of midgardian warriors attacked the children of Nidhogg and took the scion within their care. Eventually, one of the midgardians named the scion Lurieth, after the fey that was sacrificed to give her life. Lurieth now lives with the midgardians, attempting to figure out her role in the world, and whether or not she desires to play such a role.
