"Are we keeping this picture in our art file, boss?" Dave handed me an image of a busty blonde sitting on the hood of a '70s muscle car. I started to say no, but then an idea came to me. "Yeah, Dave, we're keeping this image. Because I just had an idea. We recently picked up that Chinese electric vehicle company account, right? The company that announced they'd be introducing their product line into America this coming fall?" "Oh yeah, I remember that." "Well, here's what I'm thinking. We get access to one of this company's EVs, put a topless model on the car's hood, same kind of pose as the muscle car girl. Add a physical mock-up of an EV battery recharging station next to the car. Shoot a few pictures, pick one that looks really good, and go from there." "Then what, boss?" "Then we put together an ad campaign built around the idea of sustainability. We know that, thanks to solar panels and wind turbines, electricity is a plentiful energy source. We promote the idea that our client's EVs help the environment recover from fossil-fuel pollution, making potential customers feel like they're doing their part for a cleaner, better world. Both video ads and print ads would show the two images side by side; the muscle car image, on the left, showing the way things used to be, and the EV image, on the right, showing a positive vision of a possible future." I paused. "Vibe check?" Dave nodded his head. "Heck, pitched like that, I'd want an EV for sure. No doubt." I smiled. "Well then. Let's get started!"
