The despair, the resistance, and the complete submission that will be born in that process — that is the greatest stage I desire.” He sat on the edge of the bed and took Serika’s hand again, slowly stroking the back of it with his thumb. “Think about it. If it was only you, I would only get to see the moment your heart breaks. But if I have all of you, I can witness each unique form of despair. Ayano’s resignation, Shion’s empty smile, Honoka’s terror of pregnancy, Yuzu’s sense of justice… Each one breaking with a different sound. I want to watch it together with you.” He gently lifted her chin with his fingertips and lowered his voice. “Besides, you already know, don’t you? By showing them the moment you break first, you can shatter the hopes of the other girls at the same time. In the medical room during her hospitalization, it all began with bath time, where Shinichi carefully washed her body, still bearing scars from the torture. As she soaked in the warm water, his hands slid slowly from her shoulders down her back. He touched her gently, avoiding her wounds, yet his caresses were persistent. At first Serika stiffened, but her exhausted skin gradually grew accustomed to the heat, and a sweet numbness began to spread through her. (To be continued...)
