One Determined Vampire

Regina turned Alfred on May 8, 1945, Victory in Europe Day, in her stylish apartment in London's Belgravia neighborhood. Regina, a strikingly attractive vampire, was lonely and wanted a companion. Alfred, the ne'er-do-well son of a Member of Parliament, was vain and wanted to remain forever young. Once Alfred became a vampire, though, he tended to avoid Regina. He didn't want to be tied down; he wanted to be footloose and fancy-free. A cat-and-mouse game of some 10 years ensued, covering Paris, Rome, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Hong Kong, and back to London. Alfred, though, had a weakness: a strange preference for a cold-water flat in London's East End. Regina gained access to the flat, and when Alfred entered the flat on May 7, 1955, he was greeted by Regina, a dressing gown off her shoulders, standing in the bedroom doorway...
