Monumental Discovery

Long ago, in the continent of Paxia, rising tensions amongst the numerous nations gave way to premonitions of war. Legend has it that a mysterious figure took it upon themself to travel across Paxia and establish peace between the various factions, uniting them. These monuments, located across Paxia, are believed to symbolize the various nations that allied themselves to the mysterious figure, with each woman representing a different nation. Although the true identity of this figure is unknown, the most common name featured in stories about the legend is Unus. Many archaeologists and historians have speculated that the act of fellatio depicted in these monuments symbolizes that the respective nation submitted willingly. Among them, it is argued that if Unus had taken over the nations by force, these monuments would instead portray Unus penetrating the women while they lie in a submissive posture, symbolizing domination and conquest. In comparison, the act of fellatio suggests a sense of consent and a willingness to serve. The first figure depicts the monument found in what was once the Kingdom of Aboda, the largest human settlement at the time. It is believed to have been the first of the monuments to have been erected in correlation to the belief that Aboda was the first nation to ally themselves with Unus. Although it is commonly believed that the women featured in the monuments are not based on any particular individual and are simply meant to be representative of a particular nation, some believe that the woman depicted in this monument was based on the then-ruling Queen Serena. The second figure depicts the monument in Gleemur Silva, the home of the elves. As one of Aboda's neighboring nations, it was believed to have been the second to ally itself with Unus. The third figure depicts the monument in Hallah, inhabited by the winged angels. It was the first monument to have been reportedly discovered, located in the ruins of the Temple of Grand Lux. There is some debate over whether the woman featured is meant to represent a member of the temple due to her clasped hands and head veil. Some critics note however, the absence of a blindfold over her eyes, an important part of the dress for temple members. The fourth figure depicts the monument in the coastal nation of Baythos, largely inhabited by merfolk. The surrounding architect shows that care was taken to allow both aquatic and land-based lifeforms access to the monument. The fifth figure depicts the monument in Okemono, once ruled by the beastkin. Okemono was noted as being one of the more resistant nations to allying with Unum due to its long-standing conflict with Aboda over the treatment of beastkin. Their eventual alliance would help lead to the reformation of beastkin rights within Aboda and across Paxia as a whole. The sixth figure depicts the monument in the desert territory of Ra'un Ma, which, at the time, was dominated by lamias after overthrowing the local beastkin. It's believed that allying with Unus played in important role in restoring some power back to the beastkin, who now control the northern half of Ra'un Ma. The seventh figure depicts the monument found in Mal, the land of demons. Though difficult, securing Mal's allegiance is cited as being one of Unum's most significant achievements as it would help pave the way to securing alliances with many smaller hostile factions.
