Shaela!

Meet Shaela, another one of the characters from my weirdo fantasy thing. (It's called Side Quests & Halfling Tasks, all because I thought that was funny, if you were wondering). Shaela's part in the story takes place sixty years after Tozhi's, so they never interact really. Shaela is a fun-going, for the most part, former monk of the Sacred Temple of the Northern Cross. Shaela is a Lowland Wood Elf -- they have dandelion yellow skin, and typically brown or green hair -- but Shaela went through the Trials of the Golden Mother, so all of her hair was removed by golden fire. A painful experience that all monks of the Sacred Temple of the Northern Cross must go through. Shaela is also deaf, and communicates through a high-fantasy version of ASL, though gets frustrated that she has to teach others this form of language as it is unique to her. Her tattoos are of a gold ink -- a special invention with spoilers about it -- and are sigils and runes of the martial arts magics she would normally say outloud. Thus she combines them with rigorous and structured movements, kata, and whatnot to get the desired effects. Shaela makes a lot of friends, such as Sir Jerrod -- an animated Skeleton that believes itself to be a paladin of a deity it invented on its own -- and Log -- an Ogre that has dwarfism, but is still very angry -- and PIX -- a Jungle Lust Fairy. This is the first time, I think, ever that I am talking or sharing anything about this project with anyone but close friends. Ahhhh.
