Akari Tsukishiro – The Ghost Hunter

Akari comes from a distinguished family of spirit hunters who, for generations, have ensured that dangerous spirits do not remain in the world of the living. Even as a little girl, she was taught the art of banishing magic. She was a diligent student who always tried to fulfill her duties. But unlike many members of her family, she also felt compassion for the spirits she was supposed to seal away. During a mission, she discovered an ancient spirit stone in which a Kryppuk was trapped. She was unable to completely break its seal and therefore took the stone back to her shrine. Over time, she began to perceive the different voices of the souls bound within it. When Seraphine offered her a crystal meant to enhance her banishing magic, Akari accepted the gift. The artificial resonance connected her spiritual energy to Kryppuk. From then on, she was able to seal powerful spirits and disrupt foreign psychic energy. But because of the resonance, Akari also began to experience the memories of the trapped souls. When she was tasked with sending Sayo to the afterlife, this new ability allowed her to discover just how lonely and frightened the young yūrei truly was.
