In an alternate universe, Nicola "Nikki" Fury, a hardscrabble Chicago native, is a U.S. Army sergeant serving in North Africa. Thanks to President Franklin Roosevelt's executive order allowing women to serve in combat roles, Nikki is part of Operation Torch, eager to engage the enemy. However, Nikki is currently stuck in her unit's rear area, engaging in the soldier's time-honored tradition of bitching. "Damn it, I didn't come to North Africa just to sit on my ass! I came here to fight Krauts!" Nikki puffed on her stogie. "Hmmm... Maybe I should find some girls who want to mix it up with the Afrika Corps. Stick it to those Kraut bastards commando-style..."
