"Nyeh... Miu, why did you drag me all the way here? My mana is at critical levels. I need to go back to the dormitory and hibernate for at least three days," Himiko grumbled, her voice trailing off into a yawn.
Miu spun around, a manic glint in her eyes that usually signaled trouble for everyone else’s sanity. She slammed a wrench down on the table, making Himiko jump. "Shut it, you flat-chested magic-midget! Your mana isn't the only thing that’s dry, and I’ve got the perfect invention to fix your pathetic, boring-ass life!"
Himiko squinted. "If it involves a battery or a motor, I’m leaving."
"It’s better than a motor, you tiny virgin! It’s called 'Human-Induced Catharsis through Multi-Vessel Synchronized Intimacy'!" Miu struck a pose, her chest puffed out. "Basically, I found a guy. A real, high-quality specimen. Not one of those losers around here. A guy who actually knows how to handle a genius like me—and he’s got enough energy left over to wake up your dormant lady-parts!"
Himiko blinked slowly, the implication finally sinking in. "A... threesome? Miu, that sounds like a lot of work. That’s double the movement. My MP can’t handle that kind of cardio."
"Listen to me, you lazy brat!" Miu stomped over, looming over the smaller girl. "Think about it! You’re always talking about your 'magic' and your 'illusions,' but when was the last time you felt something real? Something that makes your toes curl and your brain turn into mush? I’m talking about a world-class experience! I’ve already done the blueprints. With me taking the lead and him providing the... raw materials, you can just lie there and let the 'magic' happen to you for once!"
Himiko tilted her head, her expression shifting from annoyance to a faint, curious glimmer. "Just... lying there? No effort required?"
"Exactly!" Miu cackled, her bravado reaching a fever pitch. "I’ll be the main course, and you can be the adorable little side dish that gets absolutely devoured! Imagine it: four hands roaming over you, two sets of lips, and a guy who’s so big and so skilled that he’ll make your 'spells' look like cheap birthday party tricks! I need a partner for this, Himiko! Someone who won't try to outshine my glorious beauty but can still provide the right... aesthetic contrast!"
"You're just saying you want someone to help you handle him because you're actually a coward, aren't you?" Himiko muttered.
Miu’s face turned bright red, her aggressive posture collapsing into a flustered, stuttering mess. "W-Who are you calling a coward?! I’m the Golden Girl! The Ultimate Inventor! I just... I thought it would be a waste of a perfectly good stallion if I didn't share! Plus, wouldn't it be a great story? The Mage and the Genius, conquered by a commoner? It’s poetic! It’s despair-inducing! It’s... it’s hot, okay?!"
Himiko looked at her fingernails, considering the proposition. The idea of being the center of that much attention without having to actually perform a stage show was becoming strangely appealing. "And he’s... nice?"
"He’s a goddamn beast, Himiko! I’ve seen pictures! He’s got enough 'mana' to power a small city!" Miu leaned in, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial stage-whisper. "He wants to see us both. He wants to see you in that ridiculous hat while he takes me from behind, and then he wants to switch. He wants to explore every inch of your 'mysterious' body while I’m right there, cheering him on and joining in. It’ll be a symphony of filth!"
Himiko let out a small, soft hum. "Nyeh... I suppose if it's for the sake of exploring new types of energy... and if you promise I don't have to do any of the heavy lifting..."
"YES!" Miu pumped her fist into the air, her vulgar confidence returning in an instant. "That’s the spirit, you little witch! We’re gonna break that guy, and he’s gonna break us right back! I’ve got the lubricants, the restraints, and the stamina-boosting supplements all ready to go! Get your hat, Himiko! We’re going on a 'magical' journey that’s gonna leave you needing a wheelchair by morning!"
Himiko stood up slowly, adjusting her cape. "I’ll go. But if I run out of MP halfway through, I’m taking a nap right there on the bed."
"Fine by me!" Miu laughed, grabbing Himiko by the arm and dragging her toward the door. "Just wait until you see the size of this guy! You’re gonna think it’s a real-life summoning circle!"
As they left the workshop, Miu’s loud, boastful claims about their upcoming "experiment" echoed through the halls, leaving Himiko to simply follow along, her heart beating just a little bit faster at the thought of the "mana" she was about to encounter.'

Your empathy gets the better of you and you rush to the aid of the entangled fairy. Up close, she looks even frailer. Weak and soft, no muscle to speak of. The vines however seem thick and full of life. She wouldn’t stand a chance without your help.

It takes some effort, but you manage to untangle her legs. The vines are slick and hard to grab, which makes you wonder how they manage to cling so tightly to the fairy’s body. But there’s no time to wonder as it takes constant effort to keep the vines from re-wrapping themselves around her.

You pull the fairy to her legs and help her stand. Her cries for help have stopped. She seems to be in shock, unresponsive and wide-eyed.

You try to reassure her that you will free her. She nods weakly and you resume your efforts. But the vines that entangle her torso are wrapped even more tightly. They squeeze her chest with such force that you wonder how she can breathe. It’s a miracle she could cry for help at all.

You pull her closer to try and free her hands.

“Help me!” She exclaims weakly, the same as she had before.

You try to reassure her again, but she just repeats her cry for help.

Repeats it a little too closely.

The fairy is close to you now. Close enough that you could kiss her. Her eyes stare back up into yours. There was light in them, but it was… wrong, somehow. Then the light in her eyes shifted, like water sloshing in a tube. Her head tilted limply, her eyes taking on the likeness of dull empty glass vessels. Her mouth formed into a smile, almost, but it wasn’t a real smile. It was simply her face loosing its animating force and the skin going slack.

Your shock fades quickly and you try to turn and leave only to find your legs hopelessly entangled in the vines. You try to pull them off, but they are much, much stronger now. They are no longer slick, but they cling to your clothing like glue.

The vines climb your body eagerly, not strangling you, but holding you perfectly still, bound up like a straight jacket.

You can only watch as plants emerge from the fairy’s lifeless body. Flowers poking through her mouth and her eye socket like they are watching you closely. The vines lift her off the ground as a vicious yellow slime begins to drip from her mouth. It smells like honey, but the vapors singe your nostrils and your throat like acid. The vines do not relent. They squeeze and twist the fairy’s body like juicing a fruit. More and more of the honey like acid pools near your feet and it writhes with life. You realize, now far too late, that the slime is the real creature and you have fallen prey to its hunting tactic.

“I warned you, didn’t l?” The lady’s voice said from behind you.

It takes all your effort to twist far enough around to look at her. Her voice had filled you with sudden hope. Was she here to save you? It took only a single look at the expression on her face to know the answer.

The lady looked back at you with disappointment. No, something more than that. Her eyes seemed to glow in the dark and her frown was so deep and stern that it seemed to cut through to your soul.

“You got my hopes up, really. I told you that you were wise for not trusting appearances. I told you that these Woods were hungry. And yet you walk into a trap regardless .”

You try to ask for help, but if anything her expression somehow worsens.

“I will not deprive the Woods of its food. We understand each other, the Woods and I. We have an accord. You could have been a part of that. But it seems you are fit only to join the Woods in a more primal way.”

You try to plea, to argue your case. But she doesn’t speak another word. Nor does she leave you. For better or worse, she stays by your side watching until the vines strangle you and the slime melts your down to your bones.
