And this is Liam post-character development. After hitting rock bottom face-first and getting disowned by his family for too many failures, Liam goes through a startling transformation. He becomes far more humble, friendly, supportive, self-sufficient, and skilled. Instead of being the butt of most jokes and getting clobbered in battle he's now doing the clobbering in battles and has overcome all his toxic flaws (with Stu taking his place as the butt-monkey of the Sinnoh saga). He's also makes amends with Geo, Jodi, and Danny (and, by extension, Sophia), becoming a recurring friend, effectively a third "knight" to Jodi since he helps defend her from the likes of Stu, while also giving up on pursuing his crush on her out of respect to her and as part of his atonement for his previous actions and attitude. Instead he devotes himself to helping others, improving himself as a person, and making a name for himself without his family's toxic influence.
