Orphielle is just one of a select group of women serving as a co-navigator aboard a Tri-Planet Fleet starship. Her current assignment, aboard the TPF cruiser "Archangel," requires Orphielle to leave the ship's bridge and enter a restricted lower-deck compartment that serves as Orphielle's workstation. After removing her uniform, Orphielle sits on a cushion that allows her to assume the lotus position. Once seated, Orphielle clears her mind to focus on the area of space the "Archangel" traverses, to ensure the starship does not encounter any hazards, natural or human-made, that pose a threat to the ship's company. On this particular voyage, the "Archangel" makes a safe transit to its destination.
