In an alternate universe, Nicola "Nikki" Fury, a hardscrabble Chicago native, is a U.S. Army sergeant serving in North Africa. Thanks to President Franklin Roosevelt's executive order allowing women to serve in combat roles, Nikki is part of Operation Torch, eager to engage the enemy.
