Luna Lovegood of Ravenclaw (placed in Ravenclaw by the Sorting Hat, thanks to Luna's wit and creativity) is regarded by some Hogwarts students as being strange because of her beliefs regarding magic. Luna's "strangeness" leads to her being nicknamed "Loony Lovegood." Luna and her father, Xenophilius, believe Harry's claims that Voldemort has returned. Luna, as part of Dumbledore's Army, practices defensive spellcasting and participates in the battle with Death Eaters at the Ministry of Magic. Though not romantically involved with Harry, Luna is a good friend.
