Queenpin’s smile sharpened when she realized you were still standing. Cute. Apparently, you’d mistaken her invitation for a negotiation. She stepped closer, heels clicking slowly against the floor, and extended one hand between you—not to touch, but to point deliberately at the empty space by her feet. “There.” Her voice was velvet wrapped around an order. She let the silence linger, violet eyes fixed on yours with amused expectation. “You’ve spent all night trying to impress me. Talking big, showing off, pretending you’re the one in control.” Her finger dipped once more toward the floor. “So be good for me. Sit.” The corner of her mouth curled upward. “And if you ask nicely enough, Queenpin might even give you something worth begging for.”
