I've always loved Misato

There is a raw, lived-in quality to Hideaki Anno’s characters that forces you to share in their experiences. The characters pop out as real, tangible humans who's existence you're merely learning about. Misato is the perfect example. Though her visual design is immediately beautiful from that picture in the first episode, that beauty is eclipsed by the complexity of her character. The more we see her flaws and her fire, the more stunning she becomes.
