- “There’s a new poison in town.” Gallagher responds. “We’ve had our 4th case of the ‘pink drip’ “
- “What? So it’s real?” Pearl asks.
- “Very much. 4th confirmed victim last night” Says Gallagher.

Pearl sits down quietly in a large conference room.
“As most of you know by now, we have a new poison polluting our streets. We believe a gangster that goes by the alias ‘Kokoroto’ was the one who started smuggling them through Waifu Bay. Many more have followed on his footsteps. They are known in the underworld as the ‘NyanNyan’ band and they keep smuggling in catgirls and offering them on the White Market.”

Pictures are shown on a large screen. Pearl reacts horrified to the images.

It’s been a long meeting and a rather gruesome at that. The air is filled with uncertainty.
“You will all get upgraded tracking devices. The guys at Tech Lab have been working on some improvements and we believe this is a perfect opportunity to put them to work. Report to your tech specialist at once. We’ll gather again after you have been given your updated gear”

A very distraught Detective Pearl enters her usual Tech Room where Barry915 her tech specialist is waiting.
- “Hello, Barry”
- “Oh, Hi Jennings! Please come in. How are you?”
- “Not good. I’m still in shock with… the images I just…”
- “I know, I’ve seen them. They had us working extra hours the last couple of weeks.”

Pearl knows the drill so without even asking she starts taking her clothes off.

- “I don’t know Jennings. But I also want HornyTown to be a safe place. That’s why I joined the Force”.

— Story time —

For the past few weeks, Ankha had been haunted by nightmares almost every night. This dark, stormy evening was no exception.

She stood frozen in that dreadful basement, her heart pounding as her eyes darted desperately around the dim space. There was no sign of Nagatoro or any of the other girls that were there before. She tried to call for help, but her voice refused to work. Just as she began to think she was alone, a flicker of movement caught her eye in the corner.
Ankha spun around. A swarm of eerie, pale hands was crawling toward her—from the floor, the walls, even the ceiling. The horrifying image of that black-and-white bear flashed through her mind. She turned to run, but the hands were faster. One clamped around her ankle, yanking her off balance. She hit the ground hard, and more hands immediately seized her arms, legs, and torso.
“No… let me go!” she tried to scream, but only a choked whimper escaped. The hands rolled her onto her back, pinning her down as several fingers crept toward her face. They forced their way into her mouth just as she finally managed to let out a blood-curdling scream.

Ankha jolted awake, her own scream still echoing in her ears. She was drenched in cold sweat, tears streaming down her cheeks. Before she could even catch her breath, a sharp knock sounded at her bedroom door.
“Ankha? Ankha!” Tara’s worried voice called from the hallway. “Is everything okay? We heard a scream!”
With trembling hands, Ankha opened the door. Tara and her brother Terror2 stood there, both looking alarmed. The moment Tara saw Ankha’s tear-streaked face and shaking body, she stepped forward and pulled her into a tight hug.
“You’re okay… you’re safe,” Tara whispered, rubbing her back gently.
Terror2 lingered awkwardly in the doorway. “What happened? Is she hurt?”
Tara shot him a firm look over Ankha’s shoulder and jerked her head toward the hall, silently telling him to leave. He opened his mouth to protest, but after a moment he sighed. “Alright… I’ll be in my room if you need me.” He closed the door quietly behind him.
Ankha clung to Tara, her sobs slowly easing. When she finally pulled back a little, Tara guided her over to the bed and sat beside her.
“Talk to me,” Tara said softly. “What was it this time?”
Ankha wiped her eyes with a shaky breath. “It’s the same nightmare again… that horrible basement. There were hands everywhere—coming out of the walls, the floor… They grabbed me and I couldn’t get away. And that bear… it always feels so real. I haven’t slept properly in weeks, Tara. I don’t know what to do anymore.”
“Oh, Ankha…” Tara’s voice was full of sympathy. She squeezed her friend’s hand. “I wish I could make them stop. Have you tried anything that might help?”
“Nothing works,” Ankha whispered, her voice cracking again. “I’m so tired…”
Tara thought for a moment, then brightened. “Wait—I have a friend who might be able to help with this kind of thing. I’ll send her a message right now.”
She started to stand, but Ankha quickly grabbed her wrist. “Please… don’t go,” she begged, eyes wide with fear. “Just stay with me a little longer.”
Tara paused, then smiled gently. “I was only going to grab my phone from my room… but it can wait until morning.” She glanced at the bed. “Is there room for me here too?”
Ankha’s face softened with relief. She nodded quickly. “There’s plenty of space. Thank you so much, Tara. You’re the best friend I could ever ask for.”
The two girls talked quietly for a while longer—about lighter things, silly memories, and anything that might chase the darkness away—until they eventually drifted off side by side.

This time, Ankha found herself floating in a sea of soft pink clouds. Everything felt warm and gentle. Without even thinking, beautiful wings sprouted from her back, and she soared through the fluffy sky. All the fear from her earlier nightmare had vanished completely. For the first time in weeks, she felt safe and at peace—all thanks to her best friend Tara.

Mason—that slick, smooth-talking asshole! He covered his tracks too well; I can't pin anything on him—not the body of the man who tortured me, the lab explosion, the contract killing of Irene, or the Boomer attack... yet I know for a fact he’s behind it all. I need to take another look at the Desouses—the place Akiko and I were during the attack. The owner... I’ve seen her before, but where? The alarm I set for 6 AM reminds me that I don't have much time left before the night shift hands over to the day shift. I stare into the open locker in front of me... there it hangs... my stomach turns... I haven't worn it since... my arms and hands ache... as it all plays out again in my mind's eye... the broken bones... the amputation... my heart starts racing, and I feel like I can't breathe. I force myself to use the meditation technique Akiko taught me and calm down. I have to face this; I won't let it control me. So, I stand up and take the black uniform out of the locker. After a few minutes, I have it on, even though it took a great deal of effort to bring myself to do it. I stride through the empty corridors toward my office; I want to review the data again before the meeting the Chief has scheduled begins. At this hour, I don't have to worry about anyone seeing me. Lost in thought, I search for the connection—the single detail that ties everything together. I don't notice my office door opening until an officer walks in. It’s Officer Romanova.

Nene: Good morning, Detective. I’m here to...

She breaks off mid-sentence as she seems to recognize my uniform. Shock is written all over her face. The existence of the special unit is an open secret, but usually, no one knows who belongs to it. I can practically see the lump forming in her throat.

Nene: I... I...

She just stammers incoherently.

Hana: Officer Romanova, you’re here quite early. When does your shift start? 8 AM? That’s an hour and a half away.
Nene: Le... on... I mean, Detective McNichol... asked me to look into something.
Hana: And that would be?
Nene: Uh... I’m supposed to look for connections between the victims of the lab explosion... and other crimes...

Connections between the explosion victims and other crimes?

Hana: How exactly does that lead to me?
Nene: Roy Chang. I wanted to look at the evidence in his murdered wife's case, but I was told the evidence was under seal because a piece was missing.

The realization hits me like a slap in the face. Irene’s husband was among the victims.

Hana: Listen—Nene, that’s your name, right? Tell Leon to let it go. Irene wasn’t what she seemed; she was the daughter of a Triad family.
Nene: Are you sure about that?
Hana: Absolutely. And it won’t end well if he keeps digging into this. Now go. I have a meeting to get too.

I nod in acknowledgment and watch her leave. I wait a few more minutes before heading out myself. I need to be more careful; she caught me off guard, and that can’t happen again. This time, I make sure the hallway is empty before heading to the meeting room. I’m not the last one there—the Chief is still missing—but the others are already waiting for me. Parda, our sniper, is sitting on one of the tables, along with the twins—Warm and Ice—our heavy weapons specialists. Then there’s Terror2, the explosives expert, and Gildenstein, the pilot and hacker. Together we are the AD Polices Shadow Squad.

Linna is sitting on her sofa, lost in thought, when the doorbell rings. She finds nothing at the door but a letter with no return address. She picks it up and goes back inside. The letter contains a personal message and something else—something falls out of the envelope onto the table.

Linna: That’s Irene’s wedding ring?
