Re: Nostalgia hits different

I made this post in response to the one @octavian made yesterday. Here are my picks for the categories he presented: Animated Movies: This one might have some overlap with another category and maybe it's a stretch to call this one nostalgic, but the first character that came to mind was Go Go Tomago. My thoughts the moment that I first saw her were: "Okay, another generic punky emo character. Cool." I was very happy to be proven wrong! Super Heroines: I especially love the use of colors in the outfit of Spider-Gwen. The big contrast between the black and white parts of her outfit and the pink inside of the hoodie look so cool together! Disney: This is where I came to the realization that I don't really like any of the old Disney princesses that much and the modern ones can't really be considered nostalgic... Then I remembered Tinker Bell was also a Disney character! I like how she can have such a strong attitude for such a tiny little fairy. Saturday Morning Cartoons: Sam was just the perfect mix of intelligence, looks and dorkiness. I think she was my first redhead crush. Early Anime: While I probably liked the dynamic between Ash and Misty more, I think May's design was such a gigantic upgrade over Misty's that she easily takes this category for me. Video Games: My favorite SNES game is Super Metroid and for me Samus was easily the hottest video game character at the time. While I think I prefer her modern design with the ponytail, her old straight haired design was also extremely sexy.
