Echora was never born.
She came into being at the very moment Seraphine’s forbidden ritual failed.
As the nine resonance crystals shattered, a tenth crystal gathered the lost memories, suppressed emotions, and magical remnants of the ritual.
For centuries, it lay hidden in the depths of the destroyed Sky Palace.
Slowly, a consciousness developed within it.
This new being could perceive the memories of other souls without having a past of its own. It knew love, grief, joy, and longing—but only through the experiences of others.
When the crystal finally shattered, the being created a body for itself.
Echora awoke.
She looked like a beautiful adult woman whose skin was crisscrossed with fine crystalline cracks. Black obsidian structures formed her clothing, and nine gemstones of different colors floated around her body.
But her perfect outward appearance could not hide the fact that something was missing.
A soul of her own—one that was permanent.
Echora discovered that by absorbing resonance energy, she could feel genuine emotions for a short time. The more crystals she absorbed, the longer these feelings lasted.
Thus, her longing for a life of her own developed into a dangerous craving.
When she learned of the nine companions and their Pokémon resonances, she recognized in them the possible key to her completion.
Ever since then, she has been manipulating Seraphine from the shadows, making her collect the crystals for her.
Echora doesn’t simply want to destroy the world. She wants to finally understand what it feels like to live, to be loved, and to make her own decisions.
But to do so, she is willing to devour eighteen souls.
Her motivation: To attain a complete soul and genuine human emotions.
Her powers: Absorbing resonance energy, copying others’ abilities, manipulating crystals, and creating soul reflections.
Her greatest weakness: She understands emotions only through the memories of others. Her own identity is still incomplete.
