Today is Bollywood Day. Wanting to avoid the melodramatic themes common in Bollywood cinema, Geeta Nartani chose to instead appear in films that focused on comedy and absurdism and eventually became known for playing foolish, but good-hearted characters. She is most known for starring in "Kung Fu Devi," playing the role of a down-on-her-luck laundry worker who is taught kung fu by a homeless woman and combines her knowledge of laundry washing and martial arts in order to take down a corrupt construction company threatening to demolish the apartment building she lives in.
