He bought me the perfect panda costume: fuzzy top and pants with black ears flopping on my head, a fluffy white belly, and soft black paw mittens for my hands. No tail, and my feet stayed bare so I could feel the sand. Underneath, I wore my cute panda bikini—white with black ear patches and a little panda face—for swimming. Now here we were on Halloween night. The air was hot like summer instead of chilly, making my cheeks pink. My jack-o’-lantern bucket swung heavy with candy I’d collected door-to-door before coming here. The glowing orange light lit up the dark beach as we walked.

“Onii-chan, look!” I lifted the pumpkin high. Orange light spilled everywhere, showing all the chocolates, gummies, and wrapped treats. Deku smiled big, his green hair messy from the sea breeze. He wore a simple hero jacket over shorts, saying he didn’t need a fancy costume when protecting my smile was his best hero job.

“Eri, you’ve got enough sweets for a whole week of smiles,” he laughed softly, squeezing my hand. His voice always made me feel safe, like no bad things from before could touch me. The beach was quiet and peaceful—maybe everyone else was at parties—but the moon painted silver paths on the water. I let go and ran ahead, bare feet leaving tiny prints in the warm sand. It tickled so nicely!

The hot night made the ocean sparkle like magic. I kicked sand into little castles, then plopped down to build a bigger one with a moat around it. My panda costume got sandy on the knees, but that was okay—it was part of the fun. “Onii-chan, help! This panda needs a strong hero to dig the water part!”

Deku knelt right beside me, his hands shaping the walls carefully like a true hero. “One For All… gentle mode!” he joked, making a perfect tower with a flag from a candy wrapper. The water looked so inviting and cool under the Halloween lights. It was getting really hot in my fuzzy panda outfit, so I stopped by our safe spot on the dry sand. “Onii-chan, it’s too warm… I want to swim better!” I carefully pulled off the panda top and pants, folding them neatly next to my glowing jack-o’-lantern. Underneath, my panda bikini felt much lighter and cooler. My bare feet wiggled happily in the sand as I ran straight into the waves.

The first splash hit my bare legs like a happy surprise—warm water, not cold at all! I squealed and jumped, sending shiny droplets flying everywhere. The panda bikini stayed comfy while I twirled and splashed. The bare soles of my feet dug into the soft wet sand as waves tickled my toes and made me giggle.

“Come play, Onii-chan!” I waved both arms, the paw mittens left behind on the sand. He rolled up his pants and joined me, the waves swirling around our ankles. We splashed each other gently at first, then bigger until I was giggling so hard my belly hurt from happiness. He lifted me high when a bigger wave came, spinning me around like I was flying with heroes. The jack-o’-lantern sat safe on the dry sand, glowing like a friendly ghost watching over my folded panda costume.

I hugged his neck tight, water dripping from my panda bikini. “This is the best Halloween ever, Onii-chan. No scary stuff… just beach, candy, and you.” The moon smiled down, and stars twinkled like tiny All Might sparks. We played until my legs felt tired but happy—chasing foam, drawing big hearts in the wet sand with our fingers, collecting pretty shells, and counting the candies together during breaks. He told me stories about heroes who protected smiles, just like he always did for me. My bare feet left little patterns everywhere we went, like panda footprints of joy.
