Yes, this was how it should be.

Your mind was still fuzzy on the details, but that was just the normal morning grogginess surely. You knew this woman.

She reached her hand out a little farther, fingers opened to intertwine with yours.

Something wells up in you. At first, you think it must be love. A warm affection for your caring wife. You can feel your blood pumping faster. Your pulse quickens. A flight or fight response.

Your body is screaming danger.

But your mind is preaching calm.

Her eyes win the debate.

“What’s wrong darling?” She pulls her arm back but her eyes are wide with anticipation and her smile has stretched into a hungry grin.
