Genie from the lamp

For centuries she had answered prayers unlike any mortal ever could. Kings begged for victory. Scholars pleaded for wisdom. Lovers longed for reunion. She had granted miracles with unwavering resolve, never allowing emotion to cloud her judgment. But this wish... This one left her silent. "I don't want riches," he had said. "I don't want power." "I don't even want immortality." He stepped closer, his expression carrying neither arrogance nor desperation. "I wish for one evening with the real you." She blinked. "That... isn't how wishes work." "You can grant impossible fortunes." "Yes." "You can reshape kingdoms." "Yes." "You can bend reality itself." She folded her arms. "Correct." "Then that's my wish." "You don't understand what you're asking," she whispered. "I think I do." "If I grant this wish..." Her voice trembled for the first time in centuries. Silence filled the room. She had crossed galaxies. Witnessed empires rise and crumble. Yet one mortal's simple request unraveled every certainty she possessed. "The real me isn't part of the bargain," she said quietly. "It is now." She searched his face for deception. There was none. Only curiosity. And kindness. A sigh escaped her lips. "I suppose..." she murmured, "...a wish is a wish." With a gentle wave of her hand, the magical aura surrounding her faded. The brilliant glow diminished, and even the swirling smoke disappeared. She stood before him not as an all-powerful genie... But simply as Lyra. A woman who hadn't lived an ordinary day in a thousand years. "So..." She smiled awkwardly. "What do normal people do?" He laughed. "Let's find out." They wandered through a bustling marketplace where she eagerly sampled fruit she had never tasted despite centuries of granting wishes. She laughed at street performers, marveled at musicians, and became fascinated by the simplest things. Fresh bread, children's games, and the warmth of sunlight that wasn't created by magic. "You know," she admitted as they sat beside a quiet fountain, "I've given people oceans of gold." "And?" She smiled. "This pastry is making me just as happy." They spent the afternoon exchanging stories. She spoke of forgotten civilizations, stars that no longer existed, and empires buried beneath the sea. He spoke of family dinners, fishing with his grandfather, and watching the seasons change from the same hill every year. To her surprise... His stories felt grander. Then he grab her by the hand, looking directly into her eyes. "I have another wish, I wish to have passionate sex with you, " he sad. She blushed. She tried to speak but the words would not come out. She was not prepared for what he wished for, but her will was not strong enough to deny his wish. So, fulfilling his wish, she did. She nodded and he took her back to his place. There he explored every hole of her body. Feeling that she never explored before washed over her like waves on a beach. Minutes seemed like hours as time went by. As twilight painted the sky in shades of amber and violet, the magic of the wish began to fade. Blue light shimmered around her once more. The lamp was calling. "I suppose this is goodbye," he said. "For now." She hesitated. Genies weren't supposed to hesitate. "You know," she said softly, "I've granted millions of wishes." He smiled. "But this was your favorite." She nodded. "It was the first one that gave me something in return." The lamp's magic enveloped her completely. Before disappearing into swirling sapphire light, she offered one final smile. "Should fate ever place this lamp in your hands again..." She winked. "...don't waste a wish on gold." Then she was gone. The marketplace returned to normal. The fountain continued to flow. But somewhere within an ancient lamp, a genie who had spent centuries making dreams come true found herself smiling. Because, for one unforgettable day, someone had wished not for magic... But for her.
