A slender young woman with an expressionless face looks up from the interface. She stands and slips off her black dress; she looks exactly like Amber, except for her red eyes and hair, and she shares the same diabolical laugh. Ruby moves toward Brian.

Brian: Ruby, you and Sapphire will take care of the Knight Sabers. Understood?
Ruby: Yes, Sir!

Brian looks down into two sapphire-green eyes while his cock is buried deep in her throat. I can hear the sirens of the reinforcements approaching and look in the direction they are coming from. When I turn back to the power suit, I realize it has vanished. Then it occurs to me that Linna must be here, too.

Hana: Linna, where are you?

She steps out from behind a dumpster.

Hana: Linna, are you hur...

I don't get any further; she rushes toward Irene. I grab her arm and hold her back, gently but firmly.

Hana: Linna, please don't—this is a crime scene now.
Linna: I have to help Irene...
Hana: I'm so sorry... There's nothing more that can be done for Irene...
Linna: No... She's... ali...ve...

I pull Linna into an embrace as the undeniable truth crashes down on her and she begins to weep uncontrollably. I only vaguely register the arrival of the reinforcements—the concerned faces of Leon, Delay, and even Captain Tanaka. After a friend named Sylia picks Linna up and assures me she’ll look after her, we begin securing the evidence. A few hours later, Captain Tanaka sends me home. I can't deny that the night's events have taken a heavy toll on me. On the way home, I try to reach Akiko; I need someone to talk to. But she’s working tonight... Dejected, I open my apartment door, wanting nothing more than to go to bed. The tension of the evening drains away, and I begin to cry. We who survived—we who tried everything to save Irene’s life—must now accept, with heavy hearts, that she is no longer among us. Some suffer because there was nothing they could do; others, because they weren't strong or fast enough. Genom will pay for this; those who do not value a human life will feel the full force of the law—even if it is the last thing I ever do. I feel so alone... Ryu... where... are you? I was very honored to be included in that list and after I made a post to honor them back, I decided to share the love even further and feature 10* more creators who inspire me on BetterWaifu.

I went through everybody's accounts and picked out my personal favorites to pay tribute to.
I adhered to the 3 golden rules originally set by Octavian:

1) If there was a remix, I remixed it.
2) If there was no prompt, I made my own interpretation.
3) NO REFERENCE SHOT.

Last time I only picked out 1 image per creator. This time I wanted to include as much material as possible, so now it's 3 different posts per person! 🤯
I randomized the order, so it's not from best to worst or anything like that.

The power suit knocked Amber to the ground with a single blow. The force of the impact sent her skidding meters across the ground. I study the suit; it has a feminine build. Whoever is piloting it arrived not a second too soon.

Amber: Not bad, Knight Saber, but that alone won't stop me.

Knight Saber? The mysterious mercenary group that fights rogue Boomers? This is my first time seeing them, but to whom do they owe their allegiance? Those questions will have to wait; Amber is already back on her feet. Patches of her synthetic skin are missing from her neck, arms, and legs. Despite everything, she can still laugh—and it sounds truly diabolical. Where are the reinforcements? There’s no time; she’s preparing to attack. Sprinting with superhuman speed, she engages the power suit in combat. No, this has to end here! I sprint forward and unleash a hail of bullets at Amber. She parries a kick from the power suit and charges at me. I block her claws with my left arm while swinging my pistol toward her head with my right. Sparks fly where she struck my arm; I aim the pistol at her skull and fire. She staggers backward, and the power suit's pilot seizes the chance to knock her off her feet. We both back away from Amber as she rises from the ground once more. The pilot fires an energy beam from a weapon integrated into the suit's arm. It hits Amber and sets her ablaze; she freezes in place and smiles. Flames completely engulf her.

Pilot: That was very reckless, Ms. AD Police.
Hana: Excuse me?

We don't get to say anything else; the flames consuming Amber reveal her true form. It no longer resembles a woman—it is a machine. Its glowing eyes lock onto us; it is a figure out of a nightmare, and it attacks immediately. We narrowly dodge its attack, and it lunges at the Power Suit like a berserker. Damn—my gear is useless against that thing; I can only watch the two of them trading blows. My earpiece suddenly comes to life, snapping me back to reality.

Chris: Hana! Listen closely! The Chief has ordered the removal of the limiters on your arms. There’s a micro-EMP generator built into them; you can use it to weaken the Boomer enough for the energy beam to take it out. The generator should be available in your arm systems now. Quick!
Hana: What the— Chris...
Chris: I’ll explain later, but first you all have to survive.

The connection cuts out. Okay, I activate the generator; waves of energy ripple across my arms as it charges up. A message appears in my field of vision: EMP Ready! I take a deep breath and charge at the machine.

Hana: Hey, you piece of junk—I’m still here!

Its vocal mechanism seems to have failed; all that comes out is a low growl. But it seems to work—it breaks off its attack on the Power Suit and turns on me. I drop into a defensive stance, ready to block the strike and counterattack.

Pilot: Have you lost your mind?

The words burst out of her, and I have to admit—it *is* madness. The attack comes from the left, and I manage to parry it with my right arm. At the same time, the EMP charge focuses in my left fist; I strike its chest, and the charge transfers on impact. It staggers, its movements sluggish—it’s WOUNDED.

Hana: Quick! Fire the energy beam straight into its chest!

I scream as I dive for cover. The pilot wastes no time; she fires and scores a hit. The machine crashes to the ground. Its eyes go dark, and it begins to burn from the inside out.

Sylia: Knights Errant. Establish contact with Priss and Nene immediately.

The system pings in confirmation, and two windows open.

Sylia: Priss, Nene—we have an emergency. Linna has been shot, and Irene’s life is in danger. Nene, track Linna’s smartphone and relay the coordinates to Priss.
Priss: Understood. I’m getting ready for deployment.
Nene: On it.

A third window opens, and Linna joins the call.

Linna: I’m chasing her on foot! Priss, you have to hurry—it’s the Boomer bodyguard from the Genom building. It’s a matter of life and death!
Priss: I’m already on my way. Nene, the coordinates!
Nene: Sending them now; they should appear on your interface any second.

Meanwhile, in the side alley:

A lovely evening. I hope Linna gets home safely. What is that sound? A clacking noise like high heels—but who would walk through this alley in high heels? I turn around and freeze; it’s *her*. The laughter on her face comes straight from hell. Screams escape me and tears stream down my face as I run away from her. The clacking of her shoes grows louder; she’s chasing me. I... I... At the AD Police Tower:

Why on earth did I let myself get talked into covering a shift at work tonight? My thoughts begin to drift, and I see Annie in my mind's eye—that kiss, the way she drove me to orgasm. *Akiko, pull yourself together.* Hey, isn't this the apartment where Ankha lives? That phone call tonight... if I hadn't been so horny, I would have realized this sooner. I’d better check on her. She really is into all that Egyptian stuff—hieroglyphs everywhere. Ah, there’s the front door... it’s standing ajar. That’s strange. I reach for the handle and push it open.

Akiko: Hello? Ankha, are you in there?

I know I shouldn't be doing this; I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. Maybe I should call Hana. I dismiss the thought, however, when I hear a faint sobbing coming from inside the apartment. I summon my courage and step inside, flinching briefly as the front door slams shut and locks behind me. I hadn't counted on that... I take a deep breath and follow the sound of the sobbing. The rooms are likewise adorned with hieroglyphs; it reminds me of a pyramid.

Akiko: Ankha?

Still no answer. The sound seems to be coming from behind the door at the end of the hallway. I move slowly toward the door, reach for the handle, and push it open. The open door reveals the bedroom; it looks just like the other rooms. Against the far wall stands a bed; sitting on it is Ankha—her legs drawn up tight, her arms wrapped around her knees. She is trembling and weeping bitterly. Tears stream down her cheeks.

Akiko: Ankha? Ankha, can you hear me?

She doesn't react; she’s in shock. I walk over to her and visually inspect her; fortunately, she doesn't seem to have any external injuries or to have done anything to herself. It must have an emotional cause. I sit down beside her on the bed and gently pull her into an embrace. I caress over her hair and speak soothingly to her. We remain like this for a few minutes until she finally notices me.

Akiko: Hey, it’s good that you’re back here.
Ankha: A... ki... ko...?

Her voice cracks; I have to be careful she doesn't slip back into a state of shock.

Akiko: Shhhh, everything is fine, sweetie. I’m here. Just calm down.

I can't say how long we just sit there, but she gradually begins to settle down. Her body has stopped trembling.

Akiko: Would you like to talk to me about it? If not, that’s okay too.

She nods and tells me about her dream—the bear with the glowing eye and the evil laugh. The men who passed her back and forth like a toy... Pull yourself together, Akiko; whatever you do, don't let her see that this turns you on right now. Luckily, I’m wearing pants, so she can't see how wet I am... Ankha finishes her story. She’s trembling again, but this time she seems to be cold; I take off my long-sleeved shirt and put it on her.

Akiko: I understand. Such a vivid dream is certainly strange. But a dream is, and remains, just a dream. Try not to think about it anymore. Okay?

Akiko: My pleasure. You can talk to me anytime if something is bothering you. I really should get going, though; I have the night shift tonight.
Ankha: Please don't go. Can't you stay with me a little longer? Please?

She snuggles up against me, and I just can't bring myself to leave her alone right now.

Ankha: The night shift? You’ve never told me what you do for a living.
Akiko: I am a nurse.

Her soft breathing tells me that she has finally fallen asleep. Don't worry—I am watching over you. Sleep well.“
