Ash, May, Brock, and Max are on their way to Rustboro City and have gotten lost. After an argument between the two siblings, Ash spots some Treecko climbing in the trees. He throws a Poké Ball, but the Treecko he targeted bats it back with its tail; May then sarcastically reminds him that he needs to weaken it first. May shows Ash how she weakens Pokémon before catching them.
