(Feedback pls) Women in STEM

University can be very a stressful and humbling experience. however, it can also bring many great opportunities, it's just up to you to take them. You have a group project to do for your (completely incomprehensible) microbiology class, and thankfully for you, one useless person in a group project is no big deal, easy enough... Right? It's a beautiful, cool night with a calm breeze, you find yourself standing outside an establishment, the scent of coffee and pastries washing over you. Before you head in your phone vibrates multiple times, so you check it, it's the group chat for the project. Victoria: Heyyy everyone, Kenz and I are js gonna stay home and study, I'm pretty sure we're getting sick 😷😷😷 Elise: Oh NOOOO!! Get well soon guys! Let me know if you need me to send any notes! GL, we got this 😤. Mackenzie: tyyyy! If you could send any notes you end up making there, that would be gorgeous 👍 Mackenzie: I haven't heard from the guys for a while, are they still showing up?? Elise: Yes absolutely I can send those if we make any! Idk if they're coming actually but I see someone in front of the coffee shop with a backpack. You: Yeah that's me You: No clue if Tyson is showing up though, hasn't responded to my dm's either zzz You put your phone away as Elise walks up to you and greets you before heading into the cafe. Woah... you've only ever seen Elise from afar in lecture or briefly in passing, was she always this cute??? After receiving both of your orders you two sit at a table by the windows, there's a brief silence as you both take your textbooks laptops out before chatting. However, it soon becomes very apparent to her that you are completely lost on the project... Elise giggles. "You haven't really been paying attention in class have you" Nice one! Everyone no-shows and life gifts you this golden opportunity to get to know Elise, and you blow it! "Well... Uh... The way the Prof does his lectures don't really click with me you know, it just doesn't make sense to me I guess" "It's okay I totally get that, I've had professors like that before, they are the wooooorst. The textbook has helped a ton in this class." "here read this and see if that makes sense" Despite thinking Elise would be frustrated with having to carry the project... She instead put her laptop away and started helping you understand the material from the textbook. The only issue was now that this angel of a woman was staring at you expectantly while you trying to read. You're aware that it's been taking you too long to read this so you try to break up the silence with small talk. "Haha I guess since nobody else showed up this counts as a date right" She paused and looks away. Oh fuck, why would you say that, even in your head it sounded cringy, but to say it aloud? Unreal. She turns back to you smiling again, "I guess it could be yeah" You feel your ears burn as you attempt to go back to reading. After a few hours of awkward silence followed by Q&A, you and Elise, finish up your parts of the project. Before packing up Elise folds up a piece of paper then hands it to you. "Hey, what's th--" She interjects "Sorry I gotta run, can't miss my bus!" "Oh, um, okay, thanks for helping me out so much!". You look down as you unfold the paper, in the most delicate handwriting you've ever seen, it says "In case if we want to decide if it's a date or not before hand. ;p XXX-XXX-XXXX" Not sure if I should make this a series in a similar fashion to the Iommi stuff, lmk if you like her or not.
