The Anti-Boomer unit is firing with everything they've got, but their small-caliber rifles can't penetrate the armor of this military-grade model. The machine lets out a bone-chilling shriek before leaping up the side of the building toward the roof. Finally, amidst the chaos, I spot two familiar faces. "LEON! DALEY!" I shout. "We need heavier weapons, or we'll never get through its armor!" "Hana? What are you doing here?" Leon asks in disbelief. "Long story... that'll have to wait. Do you have an assault cannon with you?" "No, Hana—we're just the vanguard; the main squad is still ten minutes away!" Daley replies. "Shit... Okay, it's off the street—that's a start. Listen, secure the area; I'll try to pin it down on the roof until the main squad gets here," I say, and sprint off. "What?!? Fuck, Hana, stay here—it's too dangerous!" I hear Leon shouting, but the EMP is the only chance we've got. After a few minutes that feel like an eternity, I catch up to it. This time I have no advantage; he spots me the moment I step onto the roof and launches his attack. Damn, he’s fast—I dodge to the side as his claws slice through the air where my head had been just milliseconds before. I use the momentum to counter, but he anticipates it and dodges in turn. If his systems are functioning even minimally, he should have detected the EMP. He noticeably shifts into a defensive stance, waiting for me to make a careless mistake. The exchange continues: attack, dodge, counter. He’s exploiting the fact that he doesn't tire—damn it. "HANA! TAKE COVER!" A voice cuts through my concentration just as a burst of gunfire hits the Boomer. Daley—that fool—followed me... The machine shifts its attention and targets Daley. This is my chance; I focus on the unprotected section of its spine, just above the hips. That’s this model's weak point! I strike the weak spot with all my might, discharge the EMP, and immediately pull back. "Get away from him!" commands a voice with a mechanical distortion.
