The connection cuts out. Okay, I activate the generator; waves of energy ripple across my arms as it charges up. A message appears in my field of vision: EMP Ready! I take a deep breath and charge at the machine.

At the same time, the EMP charge focuses in my left fist; I strike its chest, and the charge transfers on impact. It staggers, its movements sluggish—it’s WOUNDED.

I scream as I dive for cover. The pilot wastes no time; she fires and scores a hit. The machine crashes to the ground. Its eyes go dark, and it begins to burn from the inside out.
