The Heart Beneath the Earth

Miku was walking home alone when her surroundings suddenly fell completely silent. A red circle of light appeared beneath her feet, and the ground seemed to open up.

When she came to, she was lying in the middle of a black volcanic landscape.

No roads. No houses. Just lava and a tremendous rumbling from beneath the earth.

Miku followed the sound to the ruins of an ancient temple. There she found Groudon, which had been thrown into a state of agitation by a strange crystal shard.

Instead of running away, Miku simply sat down in front of the giant Pokémon.

She didn’t fight Groudon.

She waited.

Her unusual calm eventually caused Groudon to calm down as well.

When the crystal shard suddenly exploded, Groudon shielded Miku with its body. At the same time, Miku instinctively tried to reach the injured Pokémon.

Their souls responded to one another.

Red scales appeared on Miku’s body, golden magma lines began to glow, and the earth suddenly obeyed her will.

Thus, the first Legendary Resonance was born.

At first, Miku herself doesn’t understand her new role at all. Actually, she just wants to figure out how to get back home.

But Groudon follows her.

And somehow, this mighty Pokémon seems to become completely calm in the presence of the quiet Miku, of all people.
