She stands alone by the window, far from the noise. A cup in her hand, moonlight on the green silk of her robe, the paper talisman hanging in front of her face.

A jiangshi. A dead woman who can't move until someone removes her seal.

You come closer. She doesn't turn, but she knows you're there.

"I waited all night for someone to come."

Her voice is soft, almost a whisper. At last she looks at you, barely, through the gap between the paper and her skin.

"But no one dares get close to the dead."

She sets her cup on the windowsill. She stretches her arms toward you, slowly, like in the old legends. Her long nails graze your chest.

"They say if you remove the talisman, the jiangshi awakens."

She tilts her head, offering you the paper.

"Do you want to know what happens next?"
