Maomao × Cresselia — The Apothecary of the Crescent Moon
Phase I – The Unknown Medicine: Maomao is transported into the new world while experimenting with an unusual medicinal mixture. She lands in a forest where plants, Pokémon and animals are suffering from a mysterious resonance sickness. Naturally, finding the cause immediately becomes more interesting to her than finding a way home.
Phase II – Legendary Resonance: At the center of the forest she discovers Cresselia poisoned by corrupted crystal energy. Maomao combines unfamiliar plants into an experimental antidote and manages to weaken the infection. Cresselia responds by granting her the ability to see poison, illness and harmful resonance as visible patterns of energy.
Phase III – Corrupted Resonance: Echora deliberately exposes Maomao to a stronger form of the corruption. Instead of fearing it, Maomao becomes fascinated. Her curiosity begins turning into obsession, and she starts pushing dangerous experiments further and further simply to understand what will happen.
Phase IV – Goddess of the Crescent Remedy: Cresselia forces Maomao to confront the difference between knowledge and recklessness. Maomao finally understands that discovering how something works is meaningless if she destroys herself before she can use that knowledge. She masters both healing and poison, holding one in each hand as the Goddess of the Crescent Remedy.
