These are the leftovers made for the Lord of Mysteries, who represents Omnipresence, the Unknown, the Inconceivable and Bizarreness, Change, Foolishness and trickery, Deceit and theft, and they represent the Door of Light. They have authority and access to space, time, and history, and are capable of invoking miracles. They are capable of changing perceptions, changing themselves, changing where they are.
