Katie Sullivan was hanging out at her favorite bar, nursing a beer, when a Hawaiian girl in a tube top, denim shorts, and sandals came into the bar and walked right up to Katie. "Hey, goth girlie, remember me?"
Katie thought for a moment, then smiled. "Keilani, right? Yeah, I remember you. You were pretty wild for an island girl. So, what brings you to San Fran?" Keilani put her arm around Katie’s waist and looked into Katie’s eyes. "I miss you, baby. You were so nice to me. You knew what I was, and you didn’t care." There was a hitch in Keilani’s voice. "I promised myself that, if I got together enough money, I’d come to the mainland. I’d come to San Francisco and see you."
Katie was touched. She didn’t realize that Keilani felt that way about her. Katie reached out and touched Keilani’s cheek. "Oh, wow. I never realized…" Katie embraced her island friend, pulled Keilani close, and kissed her. "So, are you staying somewhere in the city? If you are, we’ll go get your stuff, and I’ll take you to my place." Katie touched Kelani’s cheek again. "We can pick up from where we left off…"
