📖 BESTIARY – ENTRY 001

🐍 LAMIA – THE SERPENT WOMAN

🐍 Race: Lamia (Serpentfolk)

🏛️ Origin: Greek Mythology

⚠️ Danger Level: IV / V – Very Dangerous (depending on the subspecies)

🌿 Habitat:

Warm forests, jungles, deserts, caves, swamps, and ancient ruins. Their preferred habitat depends on their particular snake subspecies.

🍖 Diet:

Primarily carnivorous. Their prey ranges from small rodents and birds to larger mammals. Feeding habits vary depending on the subspecies.

⚔️ Strengths:

• Tremendous constricting strength in certain subspecies
• Venomous fangs in venomous subspecies
• Fast reflexes and silent movement
• Excellent camouflage
• Highly developed sensory abilities
• Skilled ambush hunting

🛡️ Weaknesses:

• As cold-blooded creatures, they are often sensitive to low temperatures
• Vulnerable human upper body
• Limited mobility in certain environments, depending on the subspecies
• High energy requirements after prolonged physical exertion

🐍 Social Behavior:

Species-dependent – solitary, group-living, or communal.

A Lamia's social behavior is influenced by her snake subspecies. While King Cobra Lamias, for example, tend to live solitary lives, other subspecies may form small groups or even larger communities.

Particularly social Lamias may establish permanent settlements with their own hierarchies, traditions, and rules.

💚 Behavior:

Lamias are generally intelligent, observant, and adaptable. Their temperament varies depending on their subspecies and individual personality. Some are curious and playful, while others are shy, territorial, or extremely aggressive.

Not every Lamia considers humans enemies. Some avoid contact entirely, while others are capable of forming peaceful relationships with humans.

✨ Special Characteristics:

A Lamia's human upper body transitions into a long serpentine body at the hips.

Their coloration, scale patterns, size, venom potency, and physical abilities are largely determined by their snake subspecies.

As a result, Lamias display an extraordinary diversity of forms, ranging from small, agile varieties to enormous constrictor Lamias.

📜 Researcher's Note:

"Anyone who discovers a beautiful smile among ancient ruins should first check what might be slithering behind the pillars. Not every treasure is made of gold."
